Gravity

gravity
shatters past
what matters
is meant to last
like bladders
meant to burst
succumbing
to what is first

fleeting into
sin
like breaking
from within
ain’t as crazy
as it seams
cause not every
diamond gleams

through matter
white as snow
decomposing
what should go
like roses
blooming
shedding pedals
tiny shards
of natural metals
make their rounds
and then they settle

gravity
brings us deeper
than the heaviest
of our sleepers
who awake
only to sunlight
burning
then back into
this moonlight
turning

and as they sleep
heart beats murmur
whispers
no one can determine
crushed into soil
patiently yearning
unwilling spoil
waiting to learn it

stopping truth
at every station
like a freedom
we are chasing
cropping fruit
opening eyes
reading books
making ties
bringing down
higher walls
until every
mountain falls

gravity
is what matters
cause it makes
sure we don’t batter
against every shore
so we don’t break
as waves grow higher
so does fate

I can still remember
warmer days in cold december
when my mass was so heavy
the world could explode
if a spark coming too close
had ignited my soul
